We as a Shrine, are not limited in professing and expressing our Faith. We are free to explore different path of spirituality and arcane wisdom. We are all Free because we are all Malayang Maaram!
Malayang Maaram is derived from two Filipino words, "Malaya" and "Maaram".
Malaya means FREE and Maaram means KNOWLEDGE. Thus Malayang Maaram can refer to describe a person who is free in applying his/her knowledge of faith, belief and religion.
This definition can be a derivation from the Universal declaration of Human Rights, and the Bill of Rights as stated in the Philippine Constitution of 1987.
United Nations had declared the protection of the Freedom of religion as it was stated at the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 1948.
In Article 18, it states that:
" Everyone has the Right to FREEDOM OF THOUGHT, CONSCIENCE, AND RELIGION; this right includes FREEDOM TO CHANGE his/her religion or belief, and freedom either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or beliefs in teaching, practice, worship and observance."
The Republic of the Philippines constitution of 1987 also assure its citizens to enjoy the same FREEDOM of Religion as stated in Article III, Section 5, that says:
"No Law shall be made respecting an establishment of religion, or PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF. The free exercise and enjoyment of religions, profession and worship, without discrimination or preference, shall be FOREVER BE ALLOWED. No religious test shall be required for the civil or political rights."
As a Clergy and Chief Priest of Luntiang Aghama, we claim this Freedom and Practice it with the assurance from the constitution of the republic and the declaration of the united nations. May everyone enjoy their practice of Religion and find the true FREEDOM within.
